St Patricks Day Is Over, Where Do I Go Next? Australia!

All the fun and Guinness of Ireland and St Patrick’s day has finished and I am already looking forward to the next big event and luckily for me the Australian Grand Prix is on this weekend. It is the first race of the 2011 season and if it is like any other Australian sporting event there will be just as much drinking going on as there was on St Patrick’s Day!

The new 2011 season should be quite exciting with a fair amount of improvements to the cars. I saw improvements, they are actually making them slightly worse but this should mean the cars are harder to drive and it should result in closer races with more overtaking. For example the tyres this year have been made to last a lot shorter periods of time so, preserving tyres and well thought out pit stops will be a big help throughout the season.

For those of us who like to party properly and go the place where it is happening you are probably also in Dublin still getting over the mega Guinness hangover but luckily for you, instead of having to go home you can easily fly direct to Melbourne from Dublin.

The F1 teams have been over there for a while now setting up and Jenson Button has even been off to one of the most famous Ozzy tracks at Bathurst to go around the track in his F1 car and in the process he unofficially smashed the track record with a super fast 1:48, eight seconds faster than the current record. Watch some of it below.
