Later on this year there will be a big meeting of high up important type people to discuss the whole global warming and climate change thing that seems to be happening. Big wow I hear you say, well yeah its not that interesting to be honest whenever leaders have big meetings nothing seems to change anyway. But what is interesting is Google have got together with the Danish Government and the Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) and have made a special Google Earth tool that will show predictions of global warming on the earth. It is quite a good way of showing the effects climate change could have in on the world in a simple yet hard hitting way. They also have a video related to it that can be seen below.

It really hits home a lot better when you can see it all in the Google Earth perspective like that.

I watched this yesterday just because there was nothing else on and because I fully love Zooey Deschanel. I thought I would give it a try even though I’m not much of a fan of love story chick flick type films, I gotta say I’m quite glad I did. Its a pretty good film, some parts did begin to fall into the normal nauseating love story bile but overall it managed to stay off the hollywood path and came across as much more fascinating indie film. It has a few things that give it a distinctly indie feel, the main two being it is told in a non linear almost tarantino-esqe fashion and the other being it doesn’t have a conventional happy ending (I wont give too much away). Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt also help to give it a more interesting alternative feel to it as well because they don’t fit into the normal romantic comedy stereotype (they’re not exactly Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant). That and the fact they can actually act.

The ‘cooler than thou’ soundtrack does annoy sometimes though. We get it, the director has cool and eclectic tastes, careful you don’t turn it into a hipster film..

I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes romantic comedy’s and anyone who likes to stray from the Hollywood pile every now and again, it is a very well told story. The Trailer is below if you want to check it out.

But before I leave you I cant do a post about Zooey Deschanel and not include a picture dump. I even went one better than the last one that had her in lingerie like the last Zooey Deschanel post, with ‘technically’ topless pictures!
