Rotating Skyscraper

Dubai is an insane place, along with Abu Dhabi they have got to be the most interesting and innovative places in the world at the moment, they don’t do things by half, if everyone else builds tall skyscrapers, they build enormous skyscrapers that tower over everything else ever built. If you haven’t seen the incredible video from the top of the Burj you should really check it out.

Now they have decided they want to set their sites on moving buildings and in particular a skyscraper that every floor can rotate independently on. Madness you say! I agree, if they manage to pull it off then I’m going to be booking my flights to Dubai as soon as just so I can see the craziness for myself, its the only way I’ll believe it is true! Watch this video of what they plan to achieve.

Hopefully the get it finished in time for next years Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, then I can do a little tour of the United Arab Emirates at the same time, it’s such an impressive place.

The Wave – The UK’s Biggest Climate Change March

the_wave london 5 12 09

With the climate change Copenhagen talks and conferences coming up very soon, global warming and the planet is in the media eye more than ever at the moment.

Tomorrow on the 5th of december 2009 a whole load of people will be joining together to do a march to raise awareness for climate change. The Wave, as its called, is planning to be the UK’s biggest climate change march culminating at 3pm by circling the Houses of Parliament. Organised by a group called Stop Climate Chaos Coalition they have planned this perfectly because it is happening just before the Copenhagen talks when everyone is very interested in the matter.

In relation to Copenhagen the scientist who first called to attention global warming more than two decades ago has come out publicly to say he hopes the negotiations fail because he thinks it would set the world on a track that would be the wrong track to go down. He says that leaders are trying to come to an agreement by using a cap and trade system and it is the wrong way to go about things.

However things at Copenhagen end up going I hope at least people become more aware of  the impacts of climate change and everyone does their own little part.
