Spotify keep telling me about a new film that’s coming out called ‘(500) Days of Summer‘. Normally this would annoy me, I hate adverts, I hate romantic comedies and I hate stupid grammar in titles (see what I did there?) But what I do like is the main female lead, Zooey Deschanel, every poor movie I have seen has been enhanced ten fold as soon as she comes on screen, she normally plays the slightly kooky hippy chick, but even if she is slightly typecast its because she is so perfect at it. Most people will probably remember her from Elf, with Will Ferrell, or last years Yes Man, with Jim Carrey, and she easily held her own against two very OTT comedians. I first came to know of her from watching Almost Famous far too many times, where she played the older sister who introduces the young lead into the world of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

What you probably don’t know about her is that she is also a relatively successful singer in a duo called She & Him, although not really my immediate style of music, it is pretty good country tinged folk and there first album ‘Volume One’  is worth a listen.

I’m buying an iPhone. There I said it, I cant take it back now, By the end of the day I will have in my clammy little hands a brand new iPhone.

There is no other phone like it, and I do not mean that in a ‘wow omgz its amazings!!!111!‘ way, because clearly it is but because no other phone has created such a loyal fan base and such hatred against it. I think something love and hate always come hand in hand, a product/band/person/style will start getting a fanbase which will grow and grow until there is a reaction against it and then you get just as much hate as love.

But hey causing reactions is better than nobody having a reaction at all. I think it is a Geeky kind of thing though, In that computers, games consoles, phones and even web browsers always have a loyal fanbase that vehemently hate the opposition. Mac vs PC, Xbox 360 vs PS3, Everyother phone vs iPhone, Safari vs Firefox and the list goes on. Its about as close to football rivalries as most geek types get! The main fighting place for all this rivalry? Internet forums of course, there is no warrior like a keyboard warrior!

I know a lot of people that would never ever buy a PS3 just because they were Xbox 360 guys, even if a new title came out and it was a ps3 only game and they really really loved that game, they would go without just because they did not want to become PS3 owners. Not being a gamer myself (last console owned; Gamecube!) I find that silly but at the same time I hate PC’s and will defend Macs till the bitter end, so I guess i’m no better myself.

There is one thing I do not like about the iPhone though. The damn capital is in the wrong place!
