Is 4G on it’s way? What about the iPhone 4G?

3G is the standard for mobile broadband at the moment but the buzz about 4G is getting bigger and bigger all the time and the rumour mill doesn’t get any more crazy than when a new Apple product is in it.

A Possible iPhone 4G Design?

A Possible iPhone 4G Design?

With the iPhone 3Gs still being relatively new it is perhaps a surprise to see so much speculation over the rumoured iPhone 4G, which will make use of the under development 4th generation mobile wireless standard. It is thought that a possible 4G phone could be released before the 4G standard is implemented globally as it would be ready and ahead of the game when it is implemented.

Rumours that are flying around have said that the new iPhone could include an OLED screen, a removable battery and even a different casing. It is highly likely that whatever is done it will include basic updates such as a better camera and obviously 4G capabilities.

It is also rumoured that the release date could be as early as May, although I would happily say that is 100% not going to happen. If it does I will be majorly gutted as I have a contract sim as I couldn’t afford to buy the phone and get one of the free sims and I still have ages left on my contract!

I long for the day when 4G is widely available, I have an Epic and when I was in Vegas a couple of months ago I was able to run it on the 4G network and it was astonishingly fast to say the least.

The US seem to be ahead on the 4G front with Verizon discussing the launch of 4G while the UK and Australia are trailing slightly. 4G is definately needed fast!
