Government Climate Change Ad Is Causing A Ruckus
The government have recently started showing a new TV advert in their £6 million climate change campaign and it has already caused a bit of bother, receiving over 350 complaints already! The complaints are from people saying that the advert is scaremongering and misleading the public.
It would seem that a lot of the complaints are from people complaining about the advert being factually wrong and they say that climate change is not a problem and the advert is just misleading the public. I feel that is not really a complaint that is surely more just a debate? But then again we seem to live in a culture of official complaints, which is really stupid and annoying sometimes. I find the rubbish Webuyanycar adverts offensive to my eyes and ears but it doesn’t mean i should complain about it! It’s certainly more offensive than an advert using a bit of shock tactic to tell everyone to stop using so much energy.
It really isn’t that bad is it? I can see it might be a bit scary for Kids, but that doesn’t seem to be why most people are even complaining!
Celebs in adverts annoy me quite a lot, especially if they are funny people but then the advert just plain sucks. This car rental advert for Hertz has the Two Ronnies in it and it makes me laugh but for all the wrong reasons. Gotta love old TV!
Adverts don’t have to suck though, generally speaking, if you can make it funny you should be onto a winner, but it doesn’t have to be funny. Some brands just ooze cool and can knock up a decent advert with out much effort such as this Rowley shoes advert for vans
This is an amazing advert just for the fact it seems to have blatant product placement….for different products! Mcfly, Simon Cowell, and Gary Lineker in one advert? I wonder how much cheaper they were because it was for charity?
Computer games manufacturers do it well though like the Xbox 360 advert that sadly got banned (because of complaints….)
Sony have just kind of confused me with this PS3 advert. Still its quite cool, if a bit random!
But by far the greatest advert ever without a question is this furniture advert for Red House Furniture
That’s obviously only counting normal adverts, lingerie adverts are a whole different ball game….
