Gene Hunt’s Love For Lingerie Gets M&S Into Trouble
More stupid people are complaining to The Advertising Standards Authority saying that Philip Glenister’s appearance as Gene Hunt on the new Marks and Spencer’s christmas advert where he says “Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without…That girl prancing around in her underwear” is demeaning to women. Well yeah, that is who Gene Hunt is, the character is a chauvinistic old skool type of ‘bloke’.
According to the BBC report an amazingly massive 8 people have complained about Gene Hunt, although I am inclined to say that they are actually complaining because they have the same lingerie from M&S and they are wondering why it doesn’t look that good on them.
