DUBAI SOUND CITY 2009
From Thursday to Saturday last week (5th – 7th November) it was Dubai Sound City, which is the newest festival around at the moment and was set up by a British guy who recognises the live music scene as the new major earner for music and decided, where else would you take an idea to make money, than along to Dubai. With its huge growth in a very short amount of time people are only recently tapping into this massive and amazing city’s potential.
The Gig featured music from a whole host of British Musicians including, Ocean Colour Scene, Happy Mondays, Super Furry Animals and Human League. Sadly I knew nothing of this even until it had finished, but I hope it becomes a regular thing because it sounds like it could be a good time.
Just how early exactly can you book flights to Dubai? I do hope a second year gets a go ahead soon and they start looking at who would be on the line up, because hopefully with the exposure the festival is getting at the moment it could be a much bigger event next year!
