Christmas Already?
In the time honoured tradition of Christmas coming earlier every year it would seem that some of the shops seem to eb rolling out their luxury Christmas stock already. It hasn’t even hit the middle of September yet! The world has gone crazy and for me I think Christmas has lost a bit of its appeal because after the many, many months of building up to the day it can never live up to it.
I can understand the online shopping sites getting their Christmas deals ready and/or updated and I imagine the pages are there all through the year anyway, just with no stock on them or something. But when you start seeing aisles of Christmas teddy bears, Christmas gift hampers stuffed full of red and green things and decorations that flash continuously, willing some poor person to have an epileptic fit and you have entered the store in shorts and t shirt after just coming back from the beach, it is just a bit ridiculous!
I don’t want to be reminded of an event that is going to bankrupt me 5 months in advance! Let me have at least a little time to believe I’m not quite as poor as I actually am!
Anyway it’s not all bad hopefully the Christmas spirit will mean people will start baking awesome cookies and cakes for no reason and I get to stuff my face…
